The briefing featured a presentation from New York Fed economists on current economic conditions across the Federal Reserve's Second District—which includes the New York City metropolitan area, upstate New York, northern New Jersey, southwestern Connecticut, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. In addition to providing an update on the region's recovery from the pandemic recession and assessing remaining job shortfalls, the presentation focused on the performance of the region's housing markets through the pandemic, including changes in home prices and affordability.
