The Federal Reserve Bank of New York held its third event in a series of discussions on inequality on September 24 from 2:00-3:30 pm EDT via webex.
The forum highlighted the New York Fed’s recent research and looked at the impact of COVID-19 on communities of color. The event followed a forum in June, “An Update from the Experts: COVID-19’s Impact on Housing,” which highlighted research on the housing market and included conversations with policy-influencers on the impact of the pandemic on homeowners and renters. The virtual event also featured community development leaders and policy-influencers who discussed insights for an equitable economic recovery focused on credit markets, the racial wealth gap, and workforce equity.
The event was open to the media and members of the public, including nonprofit organizations, foundations, chambers of commerce, federal and local community development practitioners, researchers, financial institutions, and capital providers. All remarks were on-the-record unless otherwise noted.
