The 12 Federal Reserve Banks will release the 2019 Small Business Credit Survey: Report on Employer Firms at 2:30 PM EDT on Tuesday, April 16.
Fielded in the third and fourth quarter of 2018, the Report examines business conditions and the credit environment from the perspective of 6,600 small business owners who have payroll employees. It assesses how the businesses performed, their financial challenges, the credit they sought and received, and more. New features of the 2019 Report on Employer Firms include a detailed look at firms that are adding payroll employees and firms that are facing financing gaps.
More than one-third of small firms reported adding payroll employees in 2018. Financing demand remained consistent year over year. Applications to online lenders increased by almost one-third.
