On Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at 10:00 AM, the Federal Reserve Bank of New York will release the latest quarterly update to the Equitable Growth Indicators (EGIs). The EGIs provide insight on demographic and geographic differences in inflation, real and nominal earnings, employment, and real and nominal spending at the national level.
The latest update will include two new additions–the wealth EGIs and the regional EGIs–which will also be updated on a quarterly basis. The wealth EGIs report heterogeneity in wealth and its main asset and liabilities components by age, race and ethnicity, education, income, and wealth groups on a national level. The regional EGIs present disparities in inflation, real and nominal earnings, employment, and real and nominal spending across the New York-New Jersey metro area, as well as all other counties in New York state.
In addition to this update, on Friday, December 1, 2023, the New York Fed will also publish a Liberty Street Economics blog post highlighting recent trends in gender gaps in the labor market at the national and regional level.
