Tobias Adrian has been promoted to vice president in the capital markets function of the Research and Statistics Group. He had been assistant vice president in the same area since January 2009.
Mr. Adrian joined the Bank in August 2003 as an economist and was named an officer of the New York Fed in June 2008 in the capital markets function.
Mr. Adrian holds bachelor degrees from the University of Frankfurt and University of Paris, a master’s degree from the London School of Economics and a Ph.D from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Steven M. Friedman has been promoted to vice president in the markets operations, monitoring and analysis function of the Markets Group. He had been an assistant vice president in the Markets Group since January 2008.
Mr. Friedman joined the Bank in August 1998 as a financial/economic analyst in the Bank Supervision Group and was named an officer of the New York Fed in July 2005, assigned to the markets monitoring staff. Mr. Friedman was granted a leave of absence from August 2005 to August 2007 to serve on the Secretariat for the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision at the Bank for International Settlements.
Mr. Friedman holds a bachelor’s degree from Wesleyan University and a master’s degree from the Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies.
Evelyn E. Kender has been promoted to vice president in the Human Resources Group.
She had been an assistant vice president since January 1997.
Ms. Kender joined the Bank in July 1970 as a personnel assistant in the personnel relations division. She left the Bank to work at the Board of Governors from June 1971 to February 1976. Ms. Kender rejoined the Bank in March 1976 and in July 1985 she was named an officer of the New York Fed.
Mr. Kender holds a bachelor’s degree from Upsala College and attended graduate courses at George Washington University.
Barry M. Schindler has been promoted to vice president in the compliance function of the Legal Group. He had been an assistant vice president in the same area since May 2009.
Mr. Schindler was an assistant vice president in the Communications Group since November 2007.
Mr. Schindler joined the Bank in September 1998 as a law clerk in the Legal Group and was named an officer of the New York Fed in December 2001. He was promoted to assistant vice president in January 2006.
Mr. Schindler holds a bachelor’s degree from Brooklyn College and a J.D. degree from New York University, School of Law.
Jainaryan Sooklal has been promoted to vice president in the funding and liquidity risk department of the Bank Supervision Group. He joined the Bank as an assistant vice president in April 2009.
Prior to joining the New York Fed, Mr. Sooklal was a managing director, assistant treasurer and global head of long term financing at Morgan Stanley.
Mr. Sooklal holds a bachelor’s degree from Columbia University and a master’s degree from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
