New York Fed Names 12 Vice Presidents and 12 Senior Vice Presidents

NEW YORK—The Federal Reserve Bank of New York announced that its board of directors has approved the promotion of 12 assistant vice presidents to vice president and 12 vice presidents to senior vice president.

The following people have been promoted to senior vice president:

Christina Miller has been promoted to senior vice president in the Corporate Group where she is head of the Bank’s strategic planning office. She also currently serves as a co-ombudsperson for the Bank.

Ms. Miller joined the Bank in December 2008 as vice president of human resources analytics and information systems in the human resources function of the Corporate Group, and later worked in the financial management function.  Prior to joining the Bank, Ms. Miller was employed as a senior vice president in the talent management division at Lehman Brothers.            

Ms. Miller holds a bachelors of science in accounting from the University of Delaware and a master of business administration in finance from the University of Chicago.

Robyn Brandow has been promoted to senior vice president in the wholesale product office of the Executive Office.

Ms. Brandow joined the Bank in March 2004 as a staff director in the electronic payments department.  In July 2006, she was appointed an officer of the Bank with the title of electronic payments officer.  Ms. Brandow was promoted to assistant vice president in January 2009.  In July 2010, she was assigned to the group support staff function and senior administrative officer for the Financial Services Group.  Ms. Brandow joined the wholesale product office in 2011 and has been vice president since 2012.

Prior to joining the Bank, Ms. Brandow worked for Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation as director of underwriting planning.

Ms. Brandow holds an associate’s degree in business from CUNY Kingsborough Community College and a bachelor’s degree in history from Rutgers University.

Dana Green has been promoted to senior vice present in the complex financial institution function of the Financial Institution Supervision Group.

Ms. Green joined the Bank in 1991 as a bank examiner and was named an officer of the New York Fed in June 2002. She was assigned to the relationship management function in January 2003 and was promoted to assistant vice president in June 2003. Ms. Green left the Bank to relocate and work as a director in the large institutions group, Bank Supervision at the Los Angeles branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco.  In 2010 she returned to the Bank and was appointed assistant vice president in the relationship management function of the foreign banks department.

Ms. Green holds a bachelor’s degree in French literature from Duke University and a master’s degree in international finance from The Fletcher School, Tufts University.

Louis Scenti has been promoted to senior vice president in the talent management function of the Human Resources Group.

Mr. Scenti joined the Bank in November 2008 as an assistant vice president in the human resource function of the Corporate Group. Prior to joining the Bank, he was a senior vice president of talent management at Lehman Brothers.

Mr. Scenti holds a bachelor’s degree in speech/theatre from Rhode Island College and a master’s degree in human resources from the New School University.

Michael Schetzel has been promoted to senior vice president in the international affairs and strategy function of the Integrated Policy Analysis Group.

Mr. Schetzel joined the Bank as a bank examiner in 1996 and has held various positions in the Markets Group for more than nine years ending in September 2006. After departing the Bank to accept a position as a portfolio strategist at Bridgewater Associates, Mr. Schetzel returned to the Bank’s Markets Group as an assistant vice president.  Mr. Schetzel was assigned to the chief of staff’s office as deputy chief of staff, in January 2009.  He was promoted to vice president later that year and was named chief of staff in September 2010.  Mr. Schetzel left the Bank in 2012 before returning in June 2013 as a vice president in the Emerging Markets and International Affairs Group.  In 2015 he assumed leadership of the international affairs and strategy function of the Integrated Policy Analysis Group.

Mr. Schetzel holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Maryland and a master’s in international finance from Columbia University, School of International and Public Affairs.

David Gross has been promoted to senior vice president in the Legal Group.

Mr. Gross joined the Bank in September 2000 as an attorney in the legal department.  Mr. Gross was promoted to vice president and counsel in July 2008. Prior to his employment at the Bank, he worked for the New York County District Attorney’s Office as an assistant district attorney.

Mr. Gross holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Yale University and a JD from Columbia University Law School.

Julie Remache has been promoted to senior vice president in the Markets Group, where she is the director of portfolio policy and analysis.

Ms. Remache joined the Bank in September 2000 as a trader/analyst, working her way up to a markets officer in January 2008.  She left the Bank in March 2008 to accept a position at Robeco-Sage, before rejoining the Bank in January 2009, with responsibility for implementation of the MBS purchase program. In August 2009, Julie was named director for portfolio analytics.  She was promoted to assistant vice president in January 2010.

Ms. Remache holds a bachelor’s in mathematics and economics and a master’s in economics, both from Boston University.

Michele R. Walsh has been promoted to senior vice president in the discount window and collateral valuation function of the Markets Group.

Ms. Walsh joined the Bank in June 1993 as an analyst in the central bank and international account services function.  She has held various positions in the Markets Group and her prior role was chief of staff.  She has been a vice president at the Bank since 2009.      

Ms. Walsh holds a bachelor’s from Manhattan College and a master’s in business administration from Pace University.

Andrew Haughwout has been promoted to senior vice president in the microeconomic studies function of the Research and Statistics Group.

Mr. Haughwout joined the Bank in March 2000 as an economist. He was appointed research officer in January 2004 and given responsibility to lead his Group’s microeconomic and regional studies function a year later. He was promoted to vice president in 2010.

Mr. Haughwout holds a bachelor’s in political science from Swarthmore College and a Ph.D. in regional science from the University of Pennsylvania.

Paolo Pesenti has been promoted to senior vice president in the office of the director function of the Research and Statistics Group.

Mr. Pesenti joined the Bank in August 1998 as an economist in the international research function. Prior to joining the Bank, he taught economics and international affairs at Princeton University.  Mr. Pesenti was promoted to research officer in December 2000 and to assistant vice president in January 2005. In June 2007, he was given responsibility for the international research function as a rotational assignment for the next three years.  He was promoted to vice president in July 2008.  Mr. Pesenti also served as a monetary policy advisor. 

Mr. Pesenti holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and social sciences from the University Luigi Bocconi, Milan, and a masters’ degree and Ph.D., both in economics, from Yale University.

Anat Gourji has been promoted to senior vice president in the governance function of the Technology Services Group. 

Ms. Gourji joined the Bank in March 1997 as a programmer working in the open systems customer support division.  After progressing through the programmer/engineer ranks, Ms. Gourji was promoted to automation officer in July 2007 and to assistant vice president in January 2009.  In March 2009, the Automation Group was reorganized and Ms. Gourji assumed responsibility for the national remote access services in addition to her current responsibilities for enterprise search services, technical engineering and computing services function.  She was promoted to vice president in January 2010.

Ms. Gourji holds a bachelor of science in computer science from Queens College.

Nicolae Stanescu has been promoted to senior vice president in the information security function of the Technology Services Group and appointed as the Bank’s information security officer.

Mr. Stanescu joined the Bank in March 2003 as a senior analyst in the information security function and was named an officer in January 2009.  He was promoted to assistant vice president in the Technology Services Group in July 2010, and in January 2012 became a vice president and managing officer of Federal Reserve’s National Incident Response Team.

Mr. Stanescu holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Rutgers University and a master’s degree from New York University with concentrations in management, economics and leadership.

 

The following people have been promoted to vice president:

Andrea Priest has been promoted to vice president in the Communications and Outreach Group where she serves as head of the media relations function.

Ms. Priest joined the Bank in July 2011 as a media relations officer in the Communications Group.  She was promoted to assistant vice president in July, 2013.  Previously, Ms. Priest was a managing director of Joele Frank, Wilkinson Brimmer Katcher, where she specialized in investor relations and corporate communications. 

Ms. Priest holds a bachelor’s degree in English from Barnard College of Columbia University and a certificate in financial management from Cornell University. 

Gary Kaplan has been promoted to vice president in the Corporate Group where he serves as the senior financial officer with responsibility for the Financial Institution Supervision Group, the Integrated Policy Analysis Group and the Research and Statistics Group.

Mr. Kaplan joined the Bank in January 2012 as an assistant vice president and deputy administrative officer in the group operations area of the Financial Institution Supervision Group.  Previously he was an executive director and business manager at JPMorgan Chase.

Mr. Kaplan holds a bachelor’s degree in business economics from SUNY Oneonta.

Hampton Finer has been promoted to vice president in the complex financial institution function of the Financial Institution Supervision Group. 

Mr. Hampton joined the Bank in November 2009 and was appointed credit, investment and payment risk officer for the AIG relationship monitoring function of the Credit, Investment and Payment Risk Group.  He was promoted to assistant vice president in the Special Investments Management Group in January 2011. 

Mr. Finer holds a bachelor’s of science in economics from the University of Wisconsin, and a master’s in labor economics and a Ph.D. in economics, both from Cornell University.

S. Michael Koh has been promoted to vice president in the large international financial institutions function of the Financial Institution Supervision Group. 

Mr. Koh joined the Bank in August 1992 as an assistant bank examiner and was named an officer in January 2010.  He had been an assistant vice president since January 2012.      

Mr. Koh holds a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from Tufts University and a master’s degree in finance from Columbia Business School.

Robert P. Aller has been promoted to vice president in the compliance function of the Legal Group. 

Mr. Aller joined the Bank in August 1986 as an assistant bank examiner and in 1997 transitioned from Bank Supervision as a senior bank examiner.  Subsequently, he has assumed a variety of roles across the Bank including as project manager in The Office of Regional and Community Affairs, head of the Markets' Group's Office of Management and Budget, manager of the Federal Reserve System's Subcommittee on Credit Risk Management Administration Office and deputy chief of staff to the Bank's first vice president.  He was named an officer of the Bank in June 2000.

Mr. Aller holds a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts from Dowling College.

David Clune has been promoted to vice president in the compliance function of the Legal Group. 

Mr. Clune joined the Bank in May 2009 as a senior compliance specialist in the compliance function and was appointed an officer of the Bank with the title of compliance and ethics officer in 2010.  Prior to joining the Bank, he worked at Wiggin & Dana, LLP as an associate and as an assistant district attorney at the New York County District Attorney’s Office.

Mr. Clune holds a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Boston College and a JD from Fordham University School of Law.

Matthew Lieber has been promoted to vice president in the core analysis function of the Integrated Policy Analysis Group. 

Mr. Lieber joined the Bank in July 2004 working in the domestic capital markets unit of the Markets Group.  Mr. Lieber progressed through the trader/analyst job family in the Markets Group before being promoted to an officer of the Bank in July 2009.  In September 2010, he was named deputy policy advisor in the Markets Group and was promoted to assistance vice president in July 2011. 

Mr. Lieber holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and Spanish from Duke University, and a master’s degree in international economic policy and Latin American studies.

Debra Young has been promoted to vice president in the business technology function of the Markets Group.

Ms. Young joined the Bank in March 2002 as a senior technical specialist in the electronic payments and markets systems division.  She left the Bank in 2005 to accept a vice president position at JPMorgan Chase.  She returned to the Bank in March 2006 as an IT support specialist in the Markets Group.  In January 2009, she was appointed an officer of the Bank with the title of markets officer and assigned to business technology function.  She was promoted to an assistant vice president in July 2011.

Ms. Young holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Michigan and has completed the Series 7 examination.

Aysegul Sahin has been promoted to vice president in the macroeconomic and monetary studies function of the Research and Statistics Group.

Ms. Sahin joined the Bank in June 2004 as an economist in the domestic research function.  Ms. Sahin continued her work as an economist in the microeconomics and regional studies function as well as the macroeconomist and monetary studies function.  Ms. Sahin was appointed an officer of the Bank with the title of research officer in January 2011 and was assigned to the newly formed microeconomic studies function.  She was promoted to assistant vice president in July 2011.           

Ms. Sahin holds a master’s degree and Ph.D., both in economics, from the University of Rochester.

William Selick has been promoted to vice president in the research services function of the Research and Statistics Group.

Mr. Selick joined the Bank in December 2006 as a customer support specialist in the relationship management department of the information technology function.  Mr. Selick became staff director in the customer service center in August 2007.  Mr. Selick was appointed an officer of the Bank, in January 2010.  Later that year he joined the research technology services department with in the research services function.  He was promoted to an assistant vice president in July 2011.

Mr. Selick holds a bachelor’s of science in electrical engineering from Lehigh University and a master’s degree in business administration from Fairleigh Dickinson University.

David Drossman has been promoted to vice president in the information security function of the Technology Services Group. 

Mr. Drossman joined the Bank in March 2011 as a deputy information security officer in the Technology Services Group.  Prior to joining the Bank, he was the information security officer for Investment Technology Group. 

Mr. Drossman holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan.

Sal Tidona has been promoted to vice president in the program management office in the Technology Services Group.

Mr. Tidona joined the Bank in February 1987 as an assistant programmer in the data systems department.  He was promoted to various positions within that department, ultimately reaching the position of special project director in October 2004.  In January 2009, he was appointed an officer of the Bank with the title of automation officer.  As a portfolio manager in the Technology Service Group PMO, he is responsible for a portfolio of applications in the Statistics/Research, Markets, Risk, and Legal Groups.

Mr. Tidona holds a bachelor of business administration in management information systems from Pace University.
