Anna Nordstrom is Head of the Markets Group at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and a member of the New York Fed’s Executive Committee.
Nordstrom previously served as Head of the Domestic and International Markets Function within the Markets Group. In that role, she has been responsible for the implementation of domestic monetary policy operations as directed by the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC), the execution of foreign exchange operations on behalf of the FOMC and the U.S. Treasury, and the execution of the Federal Reserve’s central bank liquidity swap lines.
Nordstrom has also overseen the production of reference rates for U.S. money markets and analysis related to domestic and international policy developments. She was interim Head of the Markets Group from December 2024 through April 2025.
Prior to joining the New York Fed in 2008, Nordstrom held positions at the European Central Bank, the International Monetary Fund, and the Central Bank of Sweden (Sveriges Riksbank). She studied public administration at Umea University in Sweden.
