To increase transparency and usability of its data, the Open Market Trading Desk (the Desk) at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York today released select data from the Surveys of Primary Dealers and Market Participants in a data file format. The releases can be found on the public website for the Survey of Primary Dealers and the Survey of Market Participants, and will be made available going forward with the PDF versions.
This release is comprised of all aggregated survey data from the July 2023 survey through the September 2024 survey, with one data file for each survey. The data in these files is identical to data previously released in PDF format on the public website. Additionally, the Desk released aggregated survey results which combine data from the Survey of Primary Dealers with data from the Survey of Market Participants. This is referred to in the files as the “Combined” data.
The Surveys of Primary Dealers and Market Participants provide insight into the expectations of primary dealer firms and investment decision makers. They are conducted as part of the Desk’s market intelligence gathering.
