New York Fed to Host Inaugural Policy Series on Economic Inequality

January 22, 2020

NEW YORK—The Federal Reserve Bank of New York will host the first event in a series of discussions on economic inequality on January 30, 2020. The event, entitled “Economic Inequality: A Policy Series,” will highlight recent New York Fed research on various forms of inequality and will include conversations with policy-influencers on the effects of economic inequality on households and communities across the country.

The event will feature a panel of New York Fed economists to discuss their research on inequalities in health, income and education, documented in a recent Liberty Street Economics blog series. Additionally, leading policy practitioners will join a panel discussion on the impacts of economic inequality, as well as the trends that are informing decision-making and policy action in communities.

The event is open to the public and the press.  Members of the public can register to attend here. Members of the press who wish to attend should contact Desmond Lee at desmond.lee@ny.frb.org to RSVP. Please note that the post-event reception is closed to press.
