The Federal Reserve Bank of New York will release “Digital Equity in the U.S. Northeast, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands” on Thursday, July 18, at 10 AM.
The report by the New York Fed’s Community Development team examines the availability and cost of high-speed internet in the areas it covers. It maps broadband availability and speeds for populations the 2021 Digital Equity Act aimed to connect with high-speed internet, including aging people, veterans, low- and moderate-income households, individuals with disabilities or language barriers, and racial and ethnic minorities.
The report was developed as part of the New York Fed's Community Development efforts, which have three areas of focus: health, household financial well-being, and climate risk.
