NEW YORK—Starting on Monday, August 5, 2024 at 9:00 AM, the Federal Reserve Bank of New York will release a four-part educational series on its Teller Window platform, that covers the key components of monetary policy implementation. New articles from the series will be released daily, culminating in a “teach-in” for journalists.
Authored by staff from the Open Markets Trading Desk (the Desk), the series will aim to provide a foundational understanding of monetary policy implementation.
The four articles will cover:
- The Fed’s implementation framework overall;
- How to interpret the Fed’s balance sheet;
- The Fed’s standing liquidity facilities, and;
- Recent developments to show how the Fed’s tools have worked in practice.
“Teach-In” for Journalists on the Educational Series about Monetary Policy Implementation
An off-record press call with Desk staff will take place on Thursday, August 8 at 12:00 PM EDT to provide further context on the series. Journalists interested in participating should RSVP to Betsy Bourassa.
