New York Fed Introduces New Podcast Series

April 16, 2019

NEW YORK—The Federal Reserve Bank of New York today announced the release of Bank Notes Podcast, a new production from the Communications and Outreach Group that explores current topics in economics and finance and highlights Fed research.

The inaugural five-episode series is focused on small business, and it features conversations with three business owners from the Federal Reserve’s Second District:

These proprietors discuss their experiences—including their approach to business, their financing needs, and challenges they’ve had to overcome—and share advice for listeners.

Insights on the state of small business also come from Claire Kramer-Mills, who leads the New York Fed’s research efforts in the area, including an annual survey that examines firms’ access to financing.

The first episode of the Bank Notes Podcast is available today, and the subsequent parts in the series will air over the next four weeks (April 23, April 30, May 7, and May 14). Each episode can be streamed on the New York Fed’s website or downloaded from iTunes.

Separately, the 12 Federal Reserve Banks today issued the 2019 Small Business Credit Survey: Report on Employer Firms, which examines business conditions and the credit environment from the perspective of 6,600 small business owners who have payroll employees.
