The New York Fed is hosting a series of half-day informational seminars at three locations in upstate New York to discuss our upcoming check processing move from the Utica office to the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland and the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia in the first quarter of 2008. Customers in the Buffalo zone will be serviced by the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland and customers in the Utica zone will be serviced by the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia. Buffalo zone customers have routing transit numbers (RTNs)beginning with 0220, 0223, 2220 and 2223 and Utica zone customers have RTNs beginning with 0213 and 2213. Topics to be discussed are: why we are restructuring, the possible impact of restructuring on your check operations (for example, packaging, credit availability, and accounting/reconcilement implications), general procedures at the transit point, the need for testing if you use Payor Bank Services, how image presentments and Check 21products might mitigate the possible impact of restructuring and what your institution can start doing now to prepare for the move to Cleveland or Philadelphia. Chief operations officers, senior project managers, as well as item processing and transit managers from institutions and processors that deposit or receive presentments from the Utica office should register.
