Math x Economics = (Your Future)²

July 8, 2010

Overview
A one-day pilot program for juniors and seniors in high school who are exceptionally talented in the subject of mathematics to learn more about studying economics in college and to encourage them to consider a career in economic policy and research.

Student participants will take part in a variety of activities designed to introduce them to the field of economics. Graduate students in economics from Cornell, Princeton, Columbia and the University of Alabama will share insights about their college experience, interest in economics and path of study. A panel of economists from the New York Fed, Board of Governors and university professors will also offer their view of how studying economics can lead to an exciting and rewarding career.

Audience
Juniors and seniors from New York City public high schools, with particular focus on Title I schools. Program participants are selected by teacher nomination and following an application review.
