New York Fed Assistant Vice President Jim Orr discusses the size and characteristics of immigrants in upstate New York and the role these immigrants play in the upstate work force. In particular, he examines how this population may affect the earnings and employment opportunities of native-born workers. Jim specializes in regional economics at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. His responsibilities include analyzing and forecasting economic trends in the New York-New Jersey region.
