NEW YORK – The Federal Reserve Bank of New York, in conjunction with the Export-Import Bank of the United States, will host the Global Access Exporter Forum from 9:00 a.m. to noon on December 8, 2011. The conference is intended to provide small businesses with information on how to access global markets and expand their operations through exports.
Christine Cumming, first vice president of the New York Fed, will offer opening remarks and Export-Import Bank Chairman and President Fred P. Hochberg will deliver a keynote speech. Additionally, New York City Deputy Mayor Robert Steel and City Council Speaker Christine Quinn are scheduled to participate. There will also be several panel discussions with business and government leaders.
"Many small businesses can benefit from accessing global markets, which is why I am pleased we are hosting this forum," said William C. Dudley, president of the New York Fed.
In collaboration with the Export-Import Bank and Small Business Administration, the New York Fed plans to hold several additional forums for small businesses across the Second Federal Reserve District in 2012. The New York Fed is committed to leveraging its resources and expertise to support economic development in the district.
