NEW YORK— Federal Reserve Bank of New York President William C. Dudley will travel to Rochester and Buffalo on Wednesday, August 12 to learn about economic conditions in the region and discuss the importance of workforce development.
President Dudley will begin the day-long visit with a speech before the Rochester Business Alliance on the local economy and the benefits of workforce development, which the New York Fed actively supports throughout the Second District. Afterwards, he is expected to meet with local officials and hold a roundtable discussion with small business owners. He will also meet with the leadership of Monroe Community College to hear about their courses and programs to support workforce training.
Later in the day, President Dudley will travel to Buffalo to meet with members of Empire State Development and other officials to hear about economic development activity underway and planned in Niagara Falls and other parts of Western New York. He will then end the day with a tour of the city with Open Buffalo to see and discuss the current revitalization of downtown Buffalo and the existing needs in inner-city neighborhoods.
