On October 20, the Federal Reserve Bank of New York will host a conference on culture and behavior in the financial services industry, featuring remarks by New York Fed President William Dudley, Board Member of the U.K. Banking Standards Board Baroness Onora O'Neill, and U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York Preet Bharara.
This event builds upon two conferences that the New York Fed held in October of 2014 and November of 2015 on culture and behavior in the financial services industry. At this year’s workshop, we will be expanding the dialogue to include the perspectives of institutional investors and financial institution supervisors, discuss methods of culture assessment, and explore the influence of technology on culture.
The event will be open to the press. Chatham House Rule will be in effect for all but opening and closing remarks by President Dudley, the keynote by Baroness O’Neill, and the lunch remarks by U.S. Attorney Bharara. For all other sessions, media may report on comments made during the event, but may not attribute remarks to individuals or organizations.
The full agenda for the workshop is available on the New York Fed’s Culture and Governance Reform website. A detailed summary of the workshop will be published after the event. To RSVP for the event or for more information, please contact Andrea Priest at Andrea.Priest@ny.frb.org.
