NEW YORK—Federal Reserve Bank of New York President John C. Williams will visit Buffalo and Niagara Falls, New York, on September 5 and 6 to meet with leaders in business, community development, education, and government.
On Wednesday, September 5, President Williams will tour Buffalo with members of the Partnership for the Public Good, a local community organization. He also will meet with officials from Niagara Falls to discuss the local economy, before visiting Niagara Falls State Park for a first-hand look at recent infrastructure investments.
Later in the day, President Williams will meet with the leadership of the Seneca Nation to discuss the local economy and economic development. He will then visit HarborCenter, a sports and entertainment complex in Buffalo's Canalside historic district. The day will conclude with a meeting with leaders from the area's business community, including representatives of the Buffalo Niagara Partnership.
On Thursday, September 6, President Williams will join members of Employ Buffalo Niagara and the Racial Equity Roundtable for a breakfast meeting focused on workforce development and the promotion of shared prosperity in the region. After that, he will meet with Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown at the Northland Workforce Training Center, a public-private partnership focused on growing and enhancing the local labor pool.
Later that morning President Williams will visit the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus, where he will sit down with Paul Tesluk, dean of the University at Buffalo School of Management, for a fireside chat focused on the regional and national economy and the New York Fed's outreach efforts. His final meeting of the day will be with members of the Buffalo Niagara Community Reinvestment Coalition to discuss efforts to promote equitable growth in the region.
