NEW YORK—The Federal Reserve Bank of New York will hold its first event in its Healthy Communities conference series on December 6, 2019. The conference, entitled "New Sources of Place-Based Capital to Improve the Upstream Social Determinants of Health," will focus on ways to improve the health of communities by investing in housing and other services.
The half-day conference will feature three panel discussions examining the intersection between health outcomes and other policy areas such as housing and community development finance, as well as the role diverse stakeholders can play in promoting healthy communities. It will also offer a closer look at cross-sector strategies in the Bronx.
The conference is being co-sponsored by Comunilife, NYC Health + Hospitals Corporation, and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
This event is open to the media. All remarks and panels are on-the-record, unless otherwise noted.
