NEW YORK— On Wednesday, July 6, the Federal Reserve Bank of New York will host the second webinar of its 2022 series on culture. This virtual event, “Shifting Norms? The Intersection of Technology and Culture in Financial Services,” is part of the New York Fed's initiative to spur reform of culture and conduct in the financial services industry and encourage the industry to raise standards.
The webinar will explore the intersection of technology, culture, and financial services. It will focus on how digitalization is impacting the business models of traditional financial services firms. Panelists will also discuss how technology can affect norms and behaviors more broadly, and how Silicon Valley norms could influence cultures at traditional banking organizations.
The event will be moderated by Susan Ochs, CEO of the Ochs Advisory Group. Panelists will include Brandy Aven, Associate Professor of Organizational Theory, Strategy, and Entrepreneurship, Carnegie Mellon University Tepper School of Business; Nathanael Fast, Associate Professor of Management and Organization, University of Southern California Marshall School of Business; and Sameer B. Srivastava, Ewald T. Grether Chair in Business Administration and Public Policy, University of California Berkeley Haas School of Business.
John C. Williams, President and CEO of the New York Fed, will give opening and closing remarks.
