NEW YORK—The Federal Reserve Bank of New York has appointed Michael Strine executive vice president and head of the Bank's Corporate Group. He also will serve on the Bank's Management Committee. Mr. Strine's appointment was approved by the Bank's board of directors and will be effective May 13, 2013.
As head of the Corporate Group, Mr. Strine will oversee the financial management, business continuity, investment review, and real estate and general support functions of the Bank. He also will serve as the New York Fed’s principal financial officer.
William C. Dudley, president and chief executive officer of the New York Fed, said, “I look forward to working with Michael. I expect his financial and operational acumen will prove of great benefit to the New York Fed and its stewardship of the public interest.”
Mr. Strine has more than 20 years’ experience in the higher education, government, and non-profit sectors. Most recently, Mr. Strine served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at the University of Virginia. Previously, he was Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, and Treasurer for Johns Hopkins University.
Mr. Strine received his Ph.D. and M.A. from Johns Hopkins University in political science, and completed graduate studies at the University of Delaware in public administration and budgeting.
