New York Area Workshop on Monetary Policy
November 12, 2010

Following five years of successful meetings, the Federal Reserve Bank of New York is sponsoring the fall 2010 meeting of the Monetary Policy Workshop, open to all researchers from the greater New York area.

Overview
The purpose of the workshop is to bring together academics and other researchers in the field of monetary economics to discuss a wide range of issues relevant to the conduct of monetary policy. Both theoretical and empirical papers are typically on the program. We particularly encourage submissions in the areas of monetary and fiscal policy interaction; monetary policy and financial intermediation; credit frictions and macroeconomic dynamics.

The workshop will run from 9:00 a.m. to about 5:00 p.m. There will be five to six papers on the program, each with a discussant. Lunch and coffee breaks will provide time for informal discussion among participants.

If you have a paper that you would like to present, please forward an electronic copy to our administrative assistant, Betsy (betsy.turner@ny.frb.org), and to one of the two organizers (argia.sbordone@ny.frb.org or gauti.eggertsson@ny.frb.org).

Audience
The workshop is open to academics and other researchers in the field of economics. It is closed to the media.
